But, corporate executives, more specifically financial executives whose responsibilities include participating in their companies' strategic vision and planning their real estate, need a place to go where they can find out the real answers about commercial real estate. They need to uncover the BS they hear from landlords (many of whom unfortunately, care very little for their tenants!) and real estate brokers (most of whom are so concerned about earning a living that they often give-in to landlords in the hopes of securing assignments from them, and end up hurting their own customers...their tenants!).

I am writing this blog because I enjoy telling things like they really are. The mystique and lack of transparency that exists in the corporate real estate industry has been there for decades, and for no reason other than to protect the interests of landlords and brokers. Let's face it folks, it's only real estate...no one is curing cancer in this industry! Commercial real estate is such an antequated industry that if you talk to a landlord or a licensed real estate broker about a piece of property (just talk to him!) And your company acquires that property through someone else, you may have a multi-million dollar obligation to him! That's true in many states!
My expectation here is to communicate intelligent ideas and receive feedback from those who take the time to read this. Some responses will be fun, and others will be challenging! But, I enjoy a good fight with someone who knows his/her stuff. So, bring it on!

I got really tired of big company politics, watching colleagues and competitors exercise the common industry practice of lying to clients to make deals and collect commissions (I'll have alot to say about this in later posts!), and basically the unfair and dishonest dealings that are commonplace in many aspects of the commercial real estate industry.
Now, I'm not saying that the entire industry is that way. Not at all! There are alot of very talented, honest, hard working, rock solid, good people serving their clients in the commercial real estate industry. There's also alot of the other kind.
I founded Real Estate Strategies Corporation to provide great service to our clients, to help their companies achieve their business objectives, to help the people who hire us accomplish their career and life missions, to have fun, to make money the old fashioned way (through hard work and honest dealings), and to build a great company....not a minor undertaking but, one that I'm enjoying.
I've written over 75 articles on business, real estate, sales, and other topics, have written 2 books on commercial real estate, and speak at business and real estate conferences around the US and Canada. In my opinion, that doesn't mean I know it all but, it does mean that I know a few things and aren't afraid to share them!
Real Estate Strategies Corporation has some great clients, has consistently competed and won against the name brand companies, has received numerous awards in our brief history, and has completed some pretty creative and cool deals.
